PAIN Hits The PlayStation NetworkPosted 10:22am Thu Nov 29, 2007 by Tim Grube Tags: PlayStation 3, PAIN, playstation store

Earlier this year, Sony gave the media a quick sneak peek at an upcoming game for the PlayStation Network entitled, PAIN. The game is finally hitting the PSN store today and we believe it's going to sell like hot cakes. Developed by Denver-based Idol Minds, PAIN is a unique game focused on cultural relevance to the teen market, including comedy, creativity, community and competition.

In PAIN, players launch their character from a giant slingshot into a destructible downtown environment riddled with precarious obstacles and humorous situations. Players earn points by stringing together painful collisions and inducing mass chaos in the environment.

The game features single player and multi player modes. You can purchase it for a price of $9.99.

PlayStation Store Updated with PSEye 'Games'Posted 1:49pm Tue Nov 20, 2007 by Shiva Stella Tags: pseye, sony, playstation 3, playstation store

Sony has updated the PlayStation Store with two new gadgets compatible with the PSEye. The first is called Operation: Creature Feature ($4.99) and enables gamers to maneuver tiny monsters through obstacles while the second is Aquatopia ($1.99), a virtual fish tank with all sorts of water creatures to feed.

Here's the scoop from Sony:

In Operation: Creature Feature, you control tiny creatures from another dimension through the motion of your hands. Help them navigate obstacles through earth, water, fire and ice to escape from captivity. The more you save, the happier these creatures will be. They’re completely attracted to motion so watch out for other objects blocking you through the mazes.

Have you ever wanted an aquarium but didn’t want the hassle of cleaning the tank? Well show off the awesome power of your HD display with Aquatopia. Now, using your PS3 combined with the PSEye, you can have a virtual tank with both salt and freshwater fish. It’s virtual, so mix and match all you want. Remember when they said don’t tap on the glass? Well, feel free to with this tank. The action your PSEye captures will interact with the fish. You can even feed them by dabbing your hands in the top of the water.

I admit: the fish are definitely pretty and I'd look into it as a screensaver, but it's not enough to encourage me to buy the PSEye.
